Services
Appliances, screens and lamps need an energy label in the EU, and so do smartphones and tablets since June 20, 2025. Online, the energy class must sit next to the price, with the full label and a product information sheet one click away. Great Britain has its own label. We prepare both.
VAT+ prepares your labels and product information sheets with our compliance partner. We stay your contact.

The label goes in the box, and its details go on your listing.
The European Commission sets out what online shops must do:
The supplier also puts a printed label and a product information sheet with every unit.
The two labels look alike, but they are not the same.
| European Union | Great Britain | |
|---|---|---|
| Flag on the label | EU flag | UK flag |
| QR code links to | The model’s record in EPREL | The model information on a public website, where the QR code applies |
| Where the label comes from | Generated in EPREL after the model is registered | Made by the supplier. GOV.UK offers a Create an energy label service |
| Smartphones and tablets | Label since June 20, 2025 | Northern Ireland only |
Northern Ireland follows the EU label and uses EPREL.
Only a supplier can register a model in EPREL. The European Commission names three:
So a factory or brand in China cannot register on its own. It needs an EU importer, or an authorised representative.
Registration comes first. The model must be in EPREL before the first unit goes on sale.
Need an EU representative? Ask us whether our EU Rep service can take that role in EPREL for your models.
The label is only as good as the numbers behind it. They come from a test.
Our product testing service arranges it, and you get one fixed price before any test starts.
Want the full rules first? Read our guide to EU energy labels and EPREL.
VAT+ prepares your labels and sheets with our compliance partner. You deal with us from the first call to the last file:
We are not legal advisers, and this page is not legal advice. A specialist checks your own case on the first call.
The price
The price depends on your product. Tell us what you sell and you get a fixed price by email.
The process
Send the model numbers, the product type and the countries where you sell. A specialist confirms which label rules apply.
The label shows measured values from a test report. No report yet? We tell you which test the label needs and what it costs.
We prepare the energy label and the product information sheet in the format each market asks for: EU or Great Britain.
For the EU, the model goes into the EPREL database before you sell it. Then you add the label and sheet to your listings.
Questions
GOV.UK lists more than a dozen product groups. Washing machines, fridges, televisions and lamps are on it.
In the EU, smartphones and slate tablets were added on June 20, 2025. In the UK, that rule applies in Northern Ireland only.
EPREL is the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling, the EU database of every labelled model. The European Commission says manufacturers, importers, or authorised representatives of manufacturers outside the EU must register their models before they place them on the EU market.
A seller based in China needs an EU importer or an authorised representative to do it.
The European Commission says the label and the product information sheet must be shown close to the price. You can use a coloured arrow with the energy class, in the same font size as the price, that opens the full label on a click or mouse-over.
The same goes for list views.
No. GOV.UK says a label for the Great Britain market carries the UK flag, English text and, where it applies, a QR code that links to the model information on a public website.
Labels for Northern Ireland use the EU flag and link to EPREL.
The supplier. GOV.UK says suppliers must give labels to dealers promptly and for free.
In the EU, suppliers also pass on the EPREL registration number, so online shops can pull the label and sheet straight from the database.
Yes. The values on the label come from measurements, and the supplier must keep technical documentation that shows they are accurate.
GOV.UK says to keep it for 15 years after you stop making the product. Our product testing service can arrange the tests.
