EU & UK Authorised Representative
An EU name and address for your label, a declaration template and a review of your technical file.
Services
Toys and electrical goods need test reports before you sell them in the EU, the UK or the US. Marketplaces ask for them, and so can customs. We arrange the tests at partner labs and prepare the documents each market asks for: CE and UKCA for Europe, CPC and FCC for the US.
VAT+ runs your testing with partner labs and certification bodies. Every report names the lab that did the tests. We stay your contact.

Each market has its own rules, and its own documents.
| European Union | Great Britain | United States | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toys | CE mark, a safety assessment, tests to the EN 71 standards, a technical file and an EU declaration of conformity | CE or UKCA mark under the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 | Tests at a CPSC-accepted lab to ASTM F963-23 and other rules, and a Children’s Product Certificate for ages 12 and under |
| Electrical goods | CE mark under the low voltage, EMC and RoHS rules, with a declaration of conformity | CE or UKCA mark | FCC approval. Most digital devices use a Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity |
| Wireless devices | CE mark under the Radio Equipment Directive. Since August 1, 2025, connected devices must also meet its cybersecurity rules | CE or UKCA mark under the Radio Equipment Regulations 2017 | FCC certification by a Telecommunication Certification Body, and an FCC ID on the product |

Three things stop sales.
The marketplace removes the listing. For toys on Amazon.com, Amazon says a listing is deactivated right away if the product fails testing or the documents fail review. It stays down until you send compliant documents.
The goods stop at the border. Since July 8, 2026, US importers must file certificate data with the CPSC before regulated goods enter. No certificate, no clean entry.
The report is from the wrong lab. US toy tests must come from a CPSC-accepted lab. FCC tests cannot come from a lab the FCC prohibits. A cheap report from the wrong lab costs you a second test.
Our guides explain each set of rules in plain English, with links to the official sources:
A test report shows the product is safe. Europe asks for more than that.
Consumer products sold in the EU also need a responsible person based in the EU, named on the label. Our EU Rep service fills that role.
Appliances, screens and lamps need an energy label too. See our energy label service.
VAT+ works with partner labs and certification bodies. You deal with us from the first call to the last report:
We are not a lab and not legal advisers, and this page is not legal advice. A specialist checks your own case on the first call.
The price
The price depends on your product. Tell us what you sell and you get a fixed price by email.
The process
Send the product name, photos and the countries where you sell. A specialist lists the tests and documents each market asks for.
You get the list of tests and one fixed price before any test starts.
You send samples to the lab named in your quote. The lab tests them against the standards on your list.
You get the test report and the certificate or declaration the market asks for. Upload them to your marketplace account.
Questions
It depends on the product and the market. In the EU, toys fall under the toy safety rules and the EN 71 standards.
Electrical goods fall under the low voltage, EMC, radio and RoHS rules. In the US, products for children aged 12 or under need a Children’s Product Certificate based on tests at a CPSC-accepted lab, and most electronics need FCC approval.
On the first call we tell you exactly which apply.
No. The CE mark is your own declaration, as the manufacturer, that the product meets every EU rule that applies.
A lab report is the evidence behind it. You also sign an EU declaration of conformity and keep a technical file.
Some toys need a check by a notified body, an organisation the EU has named to do that job.
Not for toys or electrical goods. GOV.UK says laws that came into force on October 1, 2024 keep the CE mark recognised for both, so you can choose CE or UKCA.
The product must still meet the GB rules.
Since July 8, 2026, importers of products regulated by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) must file certificate data electronically before the goods enter the US. The CPSC says this adds no new testing duty.
It means your certificate must be ready before the goods ship.
No. Since 2025, the FCC does not allow labs or certification bodies owned or controlled by entities it prohibits, such as foreign adversary governments, to take part in its approval program.
That covers both routes, certification and the Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity. Ask us which lab will test your product before you book.
Maybe not. For toys on Amazon.com, Amazon says the test report must come from a CPSC-accepted lab and be issued within the previous 12 months.
It now asks sellers to send documents through a testing company it has authorised. A report older than a year usually means a new test.
Yes. A test report does not replace the responsible person in the EU that the General Product Safety Regulation asks for. Our EU Rep service fills that role.
